Dense growth closed the entry. Uneven grade left the open ground unusable. After clearing, a raw sand pad still could not support a working production garden through Southwest Florida wet season.
The owner needed more than a clear-and-leave. Precision Landscaping & Design opened the right-of-way, regraded the grounds, built retention into the pad, and laid formal production beds — sequenced so drainage protected the garden instead of flooding it after the first heavy rain.

ROW clearing
Dense street-edge vegetation removed along the entry corridor for usable sightline and access — not a stripped lot. Canopy and palms that framed the approach stayed where they served the final layout.
Lot clearing and grading
Interior growth cleared to a working sand pad, then graded for drainage and bed layout. Finish grade supports construction access and long-term surface flow toward retention — not sheet flow through the garden rows.
Retention
An oval retention feature cut into the graded pad so seasonal water has a designed place to collect rather than saturating production beds. In SWFL, retention is site structure — not an optional add-on after planting.
Garden bed construction
Raised production rows in a formal grid with defined edges, paths between beds, and clean transitions from graded sand to planted surface. Built for a working garden operation, not ornamental planting alone.
The challenge
The hard part was the sequence.
Clear without grade and retention, and the sand pad becomes a seasonal mud plane. Build beds before drainage is correct, and the first wet-season storm undoes the layout. Street-edge ROW work had to open the corridor without turning the entry into a construction scar.
