TELL THOMAS ABOUT YOUR PROJECTTHE DIFFERENCE SEQUENCE MAKES
Designed In.
Not Added After.
Most landscape lighting in Southwest Florida fails within three years. Not product failure — sequence failure. Conduit run where there was room. Fixtures placed after the planting was established. Step lights retrofitted through finished pavers. The system works, but it's never quite right.
Lighting and irrigation are infrastructure decisions. The conduit runs with the hardscape. The irrigation mainlines are set before the sod. Fixture placement is designed from the landscape plan — confirmed during on-site design reviews, not decided on installation day.
Precision designs lighting and irrigation into every project from the first session. Coordinated with hardscape, planting, and drainage as one outdoor system — not handed off to separate contractors working after the fact.
"We run the conduit before the pavers are set. Because once they're set, you don't want to touch them."
WHAT WE DESIGN
Lighting & Irrigation.
One Coordinated System.
Palm & Tree Uplighting
Specimen palms under 20' typically require 2 fixtures — positioned 2–3 feet from base, angled 45–60°. Taller canopy palms and Royal Palms use 3+ fixtures to illuminate trunk structure and frond spread. Clustering palms (Areca, Pygmy Date) are lit by cluster, not individually. Fixture count and placement are specified from the landscape plan, not estimated on install day.
Architectural & Façade Lighting
Wash lighting grazes the home façade at 15–20° to reveal texture and depth. Cross-lighting on specimen trees creates shadow play unavailable from a single source. Moonlighting — fixtures mounted in canopy trees — casts soft downward light across hardscape for the most natural evening effect. Zoning separates the entry sequence from the pool area and the perimeter.
Path, Step & Hardscape Lighting
Step lights are set into the hardscape riser during construction — retrofitting through finished pavers means pulling them up. In-ground uplights are flush-set in the paver field during installation. Bollard height is 12–18 inches — higher creates glare, lower loses effectiveness. Every placement decision is made from the design plan before the hardscape crew starts.
Pool & Aquatic Lighting
Underwater LED, pool perimeter, and landscape lighting specified as one coordinated plan — pool lighting and site lighting designed together from the first session. Separate zones for pool deck, water features, and surrounding landscape allow independent scene control. All specified concurrently with the pool builder, not handed off separately.
Fixture Specification for SWFL
Marine-grade aluminum or brass housing only — never zinc die-cast, which corrodes within 18 months in coastal salt air. IP67 minimum for any fixture within 10 miles of the Gulf. Dimmable LED at 2700K warm white — the estate standard for Naples. Adjustable optical lens covers and risers to accommodate plant growth as the canopy fills.
Smart Controls & Zoning
Wrong pressure breaks heads or leaves dry spots. Either way, your water bill tells you first. We install pressure regulators at each zone. One regulator costs less than one month of over-pressured water waste. It's the first thing we spec. Lighting zones are separate: entry, pool, perimeter, specimen trees, paths — each on independent control.
Irrigation System Design
Most Naples irrigation systems treat the whole property as one zone. Palms need deep, infrequent watering. Turf needs frequent and shallow. Shrubs are somewhere in between. One schedule means something is always wrong. We design separate zones for each plant type from the first layout.
Coordination With Every Trade
Conduit routing designed from the landscape plan — set in sequence with the hardscape, before the pool deck is poured. Irrigation mainlines trenched before site grading closes. Every utility run is planned, not improvised. The result is a system that works exactly as designed — because the sequence was right from the start.

Why Material Specification
Matters Here.
Fixture Housing
Zinc die-cast corrodes in 18 months near salt air. We specify marine-grade aluminum or solid brass only — IP67-rated, UV-stable housing. More expensive. Doesn't fail.
Conduit Sequencing
Running conduit after pavers are set means tearing up your patio. We trench before paving, set step light wiring before pour. One opportunity. We don't miss it.
Irrigation Material
Under-spec heads lack check valves. Low spots flood. Water bill jumps. We use Hunter or Rain Bird commercial-grade with check valves on every head. Pressure regulators per zone. Your bill tells you which kind you have.
